This marinade is for Pork only (well, I have not used it anything else) and it very simple to make and tastes wonderful.

I was surprised the first time I made this marinade in how easy it is to fix and more notably, how good it tastes.  Now many marinades will say to soak for 1-8 hrs.  If using this one, soak it long.  I prefer 6-8 hrs minimum.  In reality, mine soaks for 10 since I put it in before work and take it out after.

Ingredients

1 cup apple juice (I use the Mott's individual servings )

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup canola oil

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1 tbsp salt (I only use himalayan)

1 tbsp minced garlic

2 tsp minced ginger

1 tsp ground mustard

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (not ground - add more if you like spice)

I take all the ingredients and put in a bowl.  Whisk them all together to ensure that everything dissolves.  Some marinades have you warm them up a bit to help dissolve the sugar, etc.  I never have but that is up to you.

Once all mixed, put the pork in a gallon Ziploc bag.  Pour marinade over meat.  Seal the Ziploc.  While sealing, push out as much air as you can as this will make it easier to put in the refrigerator.  Also make sure the seal is up so it will not leak (you can also put the Ziploc in a bowl or cookie sheet to catch any drips).

Now let it soak for 8 hrs.  When you are ready to cook it, pull it out of the refrigerator and let it get close to room temperature before putting it on the grill.
