Easy and tasty chili recipe.  The difference is this uses both beef and pork and is loaded with beans.

I love chili.  Not only does it taste delicious, it is easy to store and freeze (especially with a vacuum sealer).  I did not create this recipe.  It is written on a piece of paper and I am sure I copied from some other place but cannot remember where or by whom.  Sorry about that.  I can say that this recipe is VERY simple and does not require much prep time except to cook the meat.  I also use a slow cooker but you could just as easily use a pot on the stove.

This recipe makes about 4.5 quarts.  If you have a 6 quart slow cooker, it will fit. quite nicely.

Ingredients

2 lbs ground beef

1 lb ground pork

2 cans pinto beans

2 cans black beans.

1 chopped onion (big or small but whatever you like)

2 cloves garlic (again, feel free to add more)

1 can diced tomatoes with garlic/basil/oregano

1 can tomato sauce (typically 15 oz)

1 can diced tomatoes with green chilis and chipotle

10 oz beef broth

1 tablespoon Texas Pete hot sauce

1 tablespoon cumin

1 tablespoon garlic powder

5 tablespoons chili powder

Cook all the meat on the stove.  Drain off all the grease.  In the crockpot, combine ALL the indgredients (including the meat you just cooked).  Cook on Low for 6 hours.  Isn't that easy?

Feel free to substitute deer meat for the beef (or the pork).  You can also use turkey.  The simplicity of this recipe makes it so you can easily modify to fit your taste.  The first time I made this, I followed the original recipe but then made a few modification to what you see now.  If you want, cut it all in half and only make 2 quarts until you find the right combination that you and your family enjoys.
